We went on a brilliant holiday at the start of the summer. We usually don't holiday in England but we wanted to spend some time with Grandad now that he's on his own, so off we went to
Coombe Mill in Cornwall.
We've never been on a holiday like this before, so I wasn't really sure what it was going to be like. On the first afternoon Mum, Betty and me went off for an explore around the farm. The have loads of animals, goats, pigs, very funky chickens, wallabies, lambs, rabbits, donkeys deer and llamas. So if you like animals, Coombe Mill is perfect.
The goats though that mum was quite interesting!
I never realised how much I love pigs until now. They are quite funny.
Every morning at 9am there's the farm feed run to look forward to. It's really popular with all the children (and parents too) and an absolute MUST DO activity. Now, I don't like mornings and I'm not known for being out of bed at 9am if I don't have to be, but the feed run is so much fun that I was up and out every single morning. That is pretty epic for me!
When we stayed there were lots of families with young children. Me and Betty were the eldest (well Sonny was really the eldest but he was doing his own thing.) so we got to do extra farm duties, like grooming the donkeys, which we both loved.
I found this really cute iccle froggy!
To be honest, the worst thing about this holiday was having to leave Coombe Mill to go on day trips. I would have been perfectly happy not to move from there all week! Though we did go to some cool places like Tintagel and St Michaels Mount.
We also did quite a lot of our favourite family time activity - crabbing!
If I said that we had a great day crabbing from Padstow harbour I would be lying! We had fun, but we were rubbish at catching crabs. Maybe something to do with the fact that the boy next to us had a fish head for bait and two buckets full of crabs that he had caught. We aren't bitter and we actually don't care if we catch anything or not but he was bugging us, by yelling and whooping every time he got another one. Sigh.
If you are planning a holiday in Cornwall, you really should stay at Coombe Mill. It's awesome.
